Cairo Master Plan Katameyah

Project Type: Mixed-Use Development

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Project Size: 2,475,700 SQ FT

Katameyah is a transformative 1,200-meter-long mixed-use master plan developed for Citystars in Cairo. Conceived as a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented urban corridor, the project delivers over 230,000 square meters of commercial space within a predominantly low-rise architectural fabric designed to foster walkability, human scale, and long-term flexibility. At the heart of the development is a multi-functioning event plaza—an activated civic centerpiece programmed for public gatherings, cultural events, seasonal markets, and large-scale entertainment. This central plaza is framed by a curated mix of restaurants, retail, hospitality, and premium commercial office space, creating a dynamic environment that transitions seamlessly from day to night.

A signature LEED Platinum-certified office building anchors the commercial component, establishing a benchmark for sustainable development in the region. High-performance façades, water-conscious landscaping, shaded pedestrian networks, and climate-responsive design strategies are integrated throughout the master plan to address Cairo’s environmental context while elevating user comfort.

Currently under construction, Katameyah represents a new model for mixed-use urbanism in Egypt. Elijah Jordan served as Lead Architect and Lead Master Planner for the project, directing the overall vision, guiding architectural execution, and managing a multidisciplinary team to deliver a cohesive and forward-looking destination.
