Waigaoqiao Office Tower
Project Type: Mixed-Use Office
Location: Shanghai, China
Project Size: 98,450sqm (1,059,707sqf)
Located in the emerging Waigaoqiao district of Shanghai, this LEED Gold mixed-use commercial office tower serves as a key anchor within the larger Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone master-planned development. The 98,450-square-meter mid-rise complex combines high-performance building systems with a refined architectural expression designed for both environmental performance and urban presence.
The building’s façade integrates a high-performance curtain wall system paired with vertical louvers that mitigate solar heat gain during Shanghai’s hot summer months. This responsive envelope improves energy efficiency while creating a rhythmic architectural texture across the tower’s curved form.
Generous glazing and sculpted massing introduce daylight deep into the interior office spaces, while the articulated volumes establish a strong visual identity within the district’s evolving skyline. As both a workplace and urban landmark, the project demonstrates how sustainable design and contemporary architecture can work together to create a high-performance commercial environment.
